Great Dental Care

When you visit our office, your smile and oral health is our top priority. We do this by providing you with the gentle dental care that you need in a relaxed and personalized atmosphere. At our office, it has always been our goal to make you feel as comfortable as possible during your dental treatment so that you always feel at ease and confident. Whether you need a total rehabilitation of your teeth or just a simple teeth cleaning, we can help. With over 25 years of experience, we can offer you just about any kind of dental work you may need. Anything from tooth colored fillings, caps (crowns), cosmetic reconstruction including porcelain veneers and bleaching (to get your teeth their whitest) to minor oral surgery, tooth removal, root canal therapy and natural looking dentures.

One of the unique things we use in our office is something called an Air Abrasion Unit which can be used as a substitute for the “drill”! It removes the decay in the tooth by blowing a very fine stream of powder at the problem area and can be used without the need for anesthesia in many cases. That means no needle! Whereas it can’t be used for every procedure, it’s a nice change from the “drill” when it can be used.

When it comes to children’s dentistry, we do that too! In many ways, children require the same kinds of dental care as adults, but they also have some very unique needs as well. For instance, placing something called a “band and loop space maintainer” on the child’s tooth to prevent the shifting of other teeth when a baby tooth is prematurely lost is just one example of this. This simple procedure can help prevent the need for braces in a lot of cases! In addition to dental procedures like this, keeping your child comfortable psychologically while managing his/her behavior is another way we can help. At our office, our staff has been treating children successfully for over twenty years this way. As a matter of fact, we are now beginning to see the children of adults that we used to treat as kids!

As far as dental insurance is concerned, we accept most major insurances and participate with a substantial number of PPO and discount plans for your convenience. We’ll even fill out the insurance form and send it to the insurance company for you! If you have any remaining balance, payment plans can usually be arranged for those that need it and credit cards are also gladly accepted. If you a senior citizen and you don’t have a discounted insurance plan, you are entitled to a 10% discount on any dental procedure you receive!

Oral Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a frustrating condition whereby patients have difficulty breathing while they sleep. Sometimes they even stop breathing altogether! As bad as this sounds, most of the time they don’t even know that they have this problem. It’s usually the spouse that figures it out first because they’re the one that is kept awake by the loud snoring. But as this breathing problem worsens, the spouse may actually witness their bed partner waking up at night gasping for air! As this goes continues night after night, both the patient and the spouse unfortunately lose lots of sleep.

What we can do for people that suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea is to make them something called a Mandibular Advancement Appliance which is a plastic device (similar to a retainer) that fits over their top and bottom teeth. It works by preventing the bottom jaw and tongue from falling backward and blocking off the airway passage. By keeping the airway open during sleep, the patient (and the spouse) gets a good night’s sleep because the patient’s snoring is either drastically reduced or completely eliminated! Even more importantly, the long term health consequences of obstructive sleep apnea are being treated which results in the likelihood of a healthier life. The appliances are accepted by the FDA and are far more comfortable than using CPAP.
